Whiplash?

Some Key Points
  • Whiplash injuries happen in the first 125 milliseconds of a crash, you cannot stop it!
  • The amount of damage to your vehicle has no correlation to your injuries.
  • Low-speed accidents yield high injury indexes because all the force is transmitted to the occupants (12km/h=7g's of force on your neck!!)
  • If you do not seek care for your injuries research shows that these injuries will plague 71% of people 7.5 yrs later.
  • Research also shows you are 32x more likely to have neck and back pain than someone who has no history of whiplash, and the formation of arthritic changes in your neck will be accelerated by 10x the normal rate.
  • Research also shows that chiropractic care is far and away the most effective means of treating chronic cases of whiplash... so why endure the suffering?
What you can do!

If you or someone you know has been in a car accident, make an appointment immediately to have your injuries assessed, the longer you wait, the higher your chances that injuries will progress and plague you in the future.

MPIC covers initial exams and  treatment (if needed) to help you recover, however, this is only if you act in a reasonable amount of time. If you delay too long, there is a chance they will deny coverage and you will have to pay out of pocket for care.

Raise Your Headrest!

Research shows only 14% of Canadians have their headrests in a position that will protect them in an accident. The top of your headrest should be even with the top of your head, the middle of your headrest should be aligned with the top of your ear, and the headrest should be within 2 inches of the back of your head (closer the better), this may take some getting used to, but research shows it can reduce injuries up to 40%!

Dr Sean Asks some important questions of interest to Winnipeg residents - Chiropractor Winnipeg Dr Sean Asks...

What are the two things drugs do?
Drugs can either speed up (laxatives, amphetamines, caffeine) a bodily process, or slow down (stomach antacids, sleep aids, antihistamines, muscle relaxers) a bodily process. Chiropractic care can produce the same results, but relies on the intelligence of the body. Chiropractors trust your body. Do you?
What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Winnipeg folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
