River Heights Winnipeg Chiropractor, Dr. Sean Shapiro, with his family.

Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about ChiroCare Health Centre!

I would like to start by explaining how I found out about chiropractic in the first place; I guess you could say it was somewhat of an “accident.” As a 15-year-old I was involved in a three-car pile up and was badly injured. I was referred for therapy for a full year, during which time my health unfortunately declined. After this, desperate for my old life back, I was sent to a well-known medical doctor who proceeded to "try" to adjust my spine.  When mentioning this to my Grandmother at a family dinner, she told me to go see a chiropractor because, as she put it, “that is what they do!" So, on her advice, my brother (who was in the accident with me) and I tried chiropractic, and we have never looked back. The care we received changed our lives, and as a result we have now both become chiropractors!

Live a healthier life

Over the years I have seen the difference chiropractic can make, not only for injuries, but in helping people live the life they have always imagined. Seeing my patients, both young and old realize they are healthier and living better this year than they were last year simply by adding chiropractic care to their lives, only deepens my love for what I do.

Some visitors to our website often recognize me from my health articles in the paper or local magazines or from my regular appearances on SHAW and CityTV. It’s always exciting to pass along some of the advice I regularly share with my patients and see that it has helped so many people. I continually strive to learn and improve the care given at our office, and have completed a Fellowship with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (F.I.C.P.A.), as well as become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.). I also regularly attend continuing education classes throughout the U.S. and Canada so I can better serve the members of our practice.

Personally

I am married to my longtime sweetheart Kera, who I met when cast as her love interest in our high school musical “Grease”, and yes the song “We go together” played at our wedding! Kera is an elementary school teacher and we have two adorable children; Jonah and baby Mia, (who were the inspiration for building 'the family room' at CHIROCARE) and a puppy named Bentley.  We are a very active family who enjoy travelling and giving back to our community.

Well, thanks again for visiting our site, I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about my family and I, but if there is one thing I can leave you with it’s; the more I learn, the more I understand that the greatest gift in life is our health, but true “health” is something that needs to be nurtured. Chiropractic plays a paramount role in keeping us at our best, allowing us to spend more time simply enjoying our lives. So, if you are thinking about Chiropractic care in Winnipeg, we hope you’ll think of CHIROCARE and give us a call (488-CARE) to learn more. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve the same amazing results from chiropractic care that my family and I have had, and still continue to enjoy each and everyday.

Dr Sean Asks some important questions of interest to River Heights Winnipeg residents - Chiropractor River Heights Winnipeg Dr Sean Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
