As a Registered Massage Therapist, I listen first and foremost to my clients needs. I also assess specific issues and inform clients about what I am working on and why, using current evidence based information. In my view, clients are active intelligent partners in their health and well-being and I try to keep them fully informed and involved in treatment approaches.

One of my most fundamental beliefs is that the more safe and comfortable a person feels the better they will be able to heal. This may include a comfortable room, warm table, hot towels, and sometimes even a little humour. Full disclosure here… I am often with a client for 60 minutes at a time and occasionally my quirky sense of humour might sneak out during a session…it happens!

In my profession, I am curious and interested in why or how things work or don’t work. As a result, I volunteer with the research committee at the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba and try to read new research weekly. My goal is to have a large base of methods, information and techniques in my “tool kit” so that I can adapt treatments to the individual needs of my clients.

Here are some of the items in my “tool kit” so far:

  • MTAM Research Committee
  • CranioSacral levels I & II
  • TMJ dysfunction techniques
  • IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)
  • LAST (Ligamnentus Articular Strain Technique)
  • Cupping Massage
  • Rib Mobilization
  • Reiki levels I, II, and III
  • Breast Massage
  • Intro to Myofascial release
  • Intro to Lymphatic treatment
  • Palliative care certificate
  • Scar Tissue tx techniques
  • Yoga teaching 200h
  • 14 years of teaching children
  • 6 years of teaching adult EAL

I live in Winnipeg with my two cats, one dog and amazing husband. In addition, my first home – Northern Manitoba (north of 55) is near and dear to my heart and we visit our cabin up there yearly.
