Meet Dr. Aleisha Wadwa, BSc, DC
“Work hard, get top marks, get into the right school” – I received a lot of helpful career advice growing up, but the best has been, find something you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life. My personal experiences with dance injuries, my love of science, and my desire to help people all inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic.
Since childhood, I have taken every opportunity to learn and be active – from swimming and skating, to gymnastics, dance, piano, soccer, and ultimate frisbee – I wanted to do it all. Eventually, I gravitated towards what I enjoyed the most. I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and a competitive dancer for 22 years. Neither of these two sports were easy on my muscles and joints. As a result, I had a lot of ankle, knee, and hip pain. My first experience with chiropractic was during a week long stretch of Bollywood dance performances at Folklorama. My ankles were very sore from performing multiple times an evening. A team member, who is a chiropractor, told me she could help relieve the pain, so I booked an appointment with her for the following day. The result was eye-opening. The pain was gone, and I felt secure and balanced on my two feet. This incredible experience was truly life-changing. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to do this and so much more for others; I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba. Pursuing my passion for chiropractic, I attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in December 2022 with my Doctorate of Chiropractic with a Sports Emphasis. I am board certified in both Canada and the United States. I am also certified in Webster Technique, which uses a specific method of analysis and chiropractic technique to primarily adjust pregnant women but can also be used for the general population. I enjoy working with children, adults, expectant mothers, the elderly, and athletes while using an individualized approach. In addition to chiropractic adjusting, I can perform myofascial release techniques, mobilizations, and therapeutic exercises. I continue to expand my knowledge base through continuing education and seminars, so I can provide the best possible care. Outside of the clinic, I love to spend time with family and friends. I have a passion for skiing, golf, and all different types of dance, ranging from hip hop to ballet to Bollywood dancing to Indian classical dancing. In addition to English, I am fluent in Punjabi and French.
I look forward to meeting you and providing quality chiropractic care so that together, we can achieve your health and wellness goals!
