Meet Nicole Makinson, RMT

Nicole with her family.

Nicole, with her family.

I was once told that to be good in your career, you have to love what you do. Lucky for me, being a massage therapist is what I love to do! Every day I am able to help people on their journey to well-being, whether it is through a series of treatments or just a relaxation massage. I take pride in what I do, and always give my best to each and every one of my clients.

As a young child growing up in the country, in Dauphin MB, I loved playing with the pets I had. I was often found cradling my cats to sleep on my lap for hours. Maybe this was where I started to realize, that ‘relaxation’ could be my future career!?

I always knew that I wanted to help people in a way that made me feel good about what I was doing. It was my senior year in high school, when I had finally discovered massage therapy. I still remember the day I got my first massage, and exactly how I felt afterwards. From that moment forward, I decided this was the career I wanted and I went for it.

Sophie & Oliver

I graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2009. This was probably one of the most exciting days of my life! Since then, I have experienced the power of healing that massage offers both as a therapist and a client. I have been a part of the CHIROCARE team since 2009 and it still amazes me to this day, that in most cases we are able to see results right away. Whether big or small, the benefits are undeniable and rewarding to be a part of.

Since my graduation, in addition to Swedish, remedial and deep tissue massage, I have also taken continuing education courses in pre and postnatal massage, labor and delivery support, neuroproprioceptive taping techniques, palliative care massage and a multitude of other courses that help me to further understand my clients needs and how I can help them.

Outside of the office, I love spending my free time with my husband Scott, our daughter Sophie, our son Oliver (the newest addition to our family) and our two dogs, Gus and Amy.

I truly enjoy seeing the smiling and grateful faces of my clients after a massage and take great pride in knowing I made someone’s day a little better and a little brighter. I believe in what I do, and urge anyone who has not yet tried massage to give CHIROCARE a call today (488-CARE). It will be well worth it!

I look forward to meeting you, so you can receive care today for a better tomorrow! Contact us today!
